Rules for the Shawnee Baseball/Softball Comple

  • NO metal spikes. Molded cleats and turf shoes are the only acceptable on-field foot wear.
  • When hitting on field or in batting cages, batting helmet must be worn at all times.
  • All baseball screens must have weights on them.
  • Batting Cages and Bullpens are off limits unless rented. Use of the cages and bullpens is included in the cost of field rental.
  • NO moving of portable mounds without Shawnee Staff assistance.
  • No one is allowed to use any field not rented for any purpose, including but not limited to: warm up, batting practice, infield practice, pickup games or home run derby. All fields must be reserved and rented.
  • The hitting of balls off tees or soft toss (with the exception of plastic whiffle balls) into any fence at Shawnee Sports Complex is prohibited.
  • The placement of feet on any net screen is prohibited.
  • During on field practices and in the batting cages, players must hit off a hitting mat to help with wear and tear of the turf.
  • ALL teams will warm up at least 10 feet OFF all painted or chalked foul lines.
  • In the event of inclement weather, prior to the start of any game, the playability of the field will be determined by the Shawnee Baseball/Softball Complex Manager. After the start of any game, the game officials, in consultation with the Shawnee Baseball/Softball Complex Manager, will determine the playability of the field
